About Us
Our legacy
​This is the first time ever that NC State will have a Natural Hair Club. It all started with a thought and that thought grew into an idea. With that idea eventually action was taken. Lakesha and Kadesha are our Co-presidents and co-founders. It all came about by accident. Kadesha was working on her idea and in the process of looking for a Vice President she stumbled across the information that Lakesha was also starting the same organization. Lakesha had actually had the idea first, she just waited til her sophomore year to implement her plan, after she had gained proper knowledge. Kadesha was a first year transfer student wanting to make her mark on the world and immediately wanted to set upon the quest of starting her own org. They were walking the same path but taking different steps. So with one conversation they both up and decided there's no need for separation they should join forces and fulfill the hopes and dreams that they both had for their separate organizations. Using each others fuel they would build up this organization and let it flourish for years to come.

Our Goal
​We are young women and men who love and appreciate our natural hair and for some who have yet to recognize just how wonderful our natural hair is... THIS is the organization that is for you. "Going Natural" is not just a fad or phase. It’s a lifelong commitment, a way of life, it is who we are in our natural state. Our goal is to encourage the natural hair community to be confident with their natural hair by discussing various hair related topics, providing insight, sharing healthy hair care tips, help, and guidance. We will teach about different ways for us young men and women to take care of our hair & bodies and learn from each other in order to inspire positive change. As well this club will serve as a way to meet other naturals at NC State that share the same love for their hair.
